The first season of American Horror Story was a huge hit, and the night it premiered, I instantly recognized the house and blogged about it here. The second season, American Horror Story: Asylum, is probably the highest anticipated premiere this fall and rightly so!
While recently visiting LA, I took the opportunity to visit one of the filming locations used for the exteriors of the asylum.
Screenshots.
The interiors are shot at the Paramount Studios lot.
Update, they obviously shoot a lot on the lot and this scene takes place in a small courtyard area inside Paramount....

Once again. You are on top of things. I'm really looking forward to the new season. Hope you don't mind if I link this blog/story to my Fb. James R. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm flying into L.A this Friday. I would love to know where the location of the exterior Asylum is please.
ReplyDeleteIt is the Old Orange County Courthouse, 211 West Santa Ana Boulevard in Santa Ana, CA
ReplyDeleteRobert, this is not the same building. The first and second story windows are flipped and the dormers are different. Is this another side of the building or just the insperation?
ReplyDeleteIf you are referring to the first screenshot, that is obviously a CGI version of the asylum where they added another floor and some embellishments to the building. Other exterior shots were used as you can see.
DeleteDoes anyone know where Wendys Masoleum is located??
