Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985)

Check out the all-new Freddy's Revenge page on Set-Jetter.com!

As with the first film, I saw this entry first on VHS thanks to the local video store.  The film was admittedly missing some of the magic from the original (as well as the mythology), and for many years was considered the black (gay) sheep of the series.   Since the release, the film has found a following of its own and despite derailing some ideas planted in the first movie, it should at least be commended for doing something different.

UPDATE July 2015:  Thanks to director Jack Sholder, the house for Lisa (Kim Myers) has been found!  Located at 721 Madre in Pasadena.  Here are a couple area shots of the backyard and pool:

UPDATE April 2015: I had been searching for the street from the opening title shot where the bus comes down the street, lets the first kids off, and we get to see Robert Englund sans makeup.  I had visited the subsequent streets up in Palmdale and knew that this first street was somewhere in West Hollywood.  I was trying to use a house to pinpoint, but alas, the house is no longer there and so I had to utilize other clues to track it down, including driveways, light poles, etc.  I finally did find it and it was right in front of my nose the whole time, just a block down from the Elm Street house.  The bus actually crosses Elm Street/Genesse Avenue (and right past Dennis' house from Christine!).  Special thanks to my buddy Rayen for going out and getting these pics the next day. The bus turns onto De Lonpre Avenue, stopping at the corner of Spaulding....

Next up is one of the bus stops during the opening credit sequence I found up in Palmdale....

Thanks to blu-ray, I was able to find this corner from the scene where the bus drive sails past the girls' bus stop.  Here is the viewpoint from the bus....

And view from the corner....

The street where the bus leaves the neighborhood and off into the desert, which is actually just the next street over.   Thanks to Paul Slattery at Then & Now Filming Locations for the heads up on this one.   Unsurprisingly, the empty desert has been urbanized a bit since we last saw it...

The exterior of the school located in Woodland Hills, which also was featured in The Karate Kid....

Not sure if this is the exact hallway used as they all looked pretty similar....

UPDATE June 2014:  A quick revisit to the school....

I couldn't get into the playing fields behind the school, but here they are....

  4. Any luck with Lisa's house yet? I found a few possibles on Google maps, with similar backyards and pools, but it's a bit difficult with all of the neighborhoods.

    Thanks :)

  6. Here are some interesting ones I've found on Google maps. Like a needle in a haystack searching for Lisa's house, considering the movie is 30 years old, and the house might be different. 1430 Hillcrest ave, 1412 lomita drive (Same kind of look), 2930 E California blvd. There's one that has a similar look on the satellite (Pool position and distance from house), but it's in Arcadia, not Pasadena. OK, no more posts from me ;)

  8. Was the pool always that way, or was it rebuilt? It looked more vertical to the house in some of the scenes, especially when Lisa gets the phone call from Jesse. Thanks
