Bates Motel (2013)

At this time, there's only been a handful of episodes of the new Bates Motel series, but so far I like it enough to keep watching.   (For those interested, yes, I'm a Psycho fan and my bathroom is a "Bates Motel" bathroom, see here.)  On my recent first trip to Vancouver, British Columbia, I decided to check out some of the locales...

The town of "White Pine Bay" is set in a couple of locations, the first is up in Horseshoe Bay, which was used several times in the second episode and most memorably for a death by the big propeller...

The area of Steveston is also used for the town in the fourth episode...

The street in front of the Bates Motel is featured a few times....

At the time of the visit, the show was on hiatus, so the motel and house were boarded up, but was still worth a visit...

UPDATE: The seventh episode returned to Horseshoe Bay for a couple of scenes.    Here is the main street again with the propeller at the end of the street.....

And the "hardware store" which is on the same block....

UPDATE:  Episode 8 features the 2400 Motel in Vancouver featured in countless other productions....
