Phantasm IV: Oblivion (1998)

ORIGINAL BLOG

In anticipation of Phantasm V: Ravager, I am visiting some of the locations used in the series.   For each film, click on the link:
      Phantasm (originally published September 2013)
      Phantasm II
Phantasm III: Lord Of The Dead
      Phantasm IV: Oblivion

The fourth entry in the Phantasm franchise relies heavily on flashback sequences, particularly unused scenes from the original film.   The first location I'll mention here is actually one I did not go to as it does not exist anymore, however, I came across some vintage images of the street they used in Brea, including this one which shows how it used to look....

Next is a flashback to some shots used in Phantasm II....

Next is the street used in a scene shot for the original Phantasm, which looks remarkably the same...

The "hanging tree" was seen briefly in the original film.  In this entry, it gets quite a bit more screen time...

One of the first shots of the mausoleum used in Phantasm III.  Not sure if this was all shot during that sequel's shoot or if this is new....

Next up is the house seen in Michael's vision encountering the Tall Man on the porch...

Here is the spot on Wilshire where they cleverly shot on the morning of Thanksgiving to avoid any cars...

And here is the spot where they see the Tall Man walking...

And finally back to the mausoleum hallway....
