Grease 2 (1982)

Check out the all-new GREASE 2 page at SET-JETTER.COM

Oh how I loved Grease 2, not as much as the original Grease (click the link for those locations), but it was my dream to have a sequel like this!   I have been to some of these locations several times and have don various blog entries, but thought it would best to put them all in one, so here we go.  (Check out grease2.net for more info on the movie!)

First up is the school.  Instead of returning to Venice, they production used a school down in Norwalk, California.   The front of the school remains virtually the same.   The shots below are taken from a few different visits....

Here is a shot off to the side of the building where the jocks arrive to school....

And on the other side of the school....

Not sure why, but this is my favorite spot to re-enact the scene as Stephanie Zinone....

Here is the exteriors used for the last part of Cool Rider....

Next up is the football field....

The back of school was used for the scene where they find out about the talent show...

This back part of the school was used for the backstage door before the talent show....

Before we leave the school, here are a couple indoor shots of the hallways....

This street has changed a lot, but this is where the Pink Ladies go racing after the T-birds chasing Michael....

The bowling alley (actually an ice rink) is long gone, but here are some old Google street-view shots of it before it was bulldozed....

This was used as the location for the motorcycle salvage shop...

Also long gone is Jake's gas station, now a car wash....

Across the street from the location is a spot used in the being of Prowling....

Stephanie and Michael took their first cycle date down this road.....

Right next to the school is this street where the T-birds ride their cycles on the way to the diner....

The diner in the film is Cadillac Jacks, use only for filming nowadays.  It is right next to the Pink Motel, also used in a lot of films, including Drive.   These shots are taken from several different visits....

  1. I... just WOW!!! I ADORE Grease 2! I grew up with it (and it annoys my girlfriend - heh heh).

Your tour of the `Rydell' campus - I'm in tears (not really, but I am moved deeply) at how thorough you were.

I'm working on a "fan-script" (fan-written transcript) of Grease 2. It's an illustrated storybook, basically, a PDF. It has all of the dialogue, who says what, and as many dance descriptions as I can type.

Your tour not only lets me see from your POV, but also from the Rydellians POV, too. I was SO happy to see that Steph's leaning-tree is still there decades later! AND I now know it's on the north side of the building.

I know where the auditorium building is on Google Earth, and now thanks to your pics, I can maybe find the alley where The T-Birds approached to confront Michael / Lone Rider (I call Michael Lone Rider in my fanscript, and his bike is Cool Rider)

    1,000,000 Kudos for the pics.

I have Ivy Austin, "Francine the hot nerd-girl" as an email acquaintance. Her and Donna King and Bernie Hiller, too.

But you met `Goose'! Just... I bow.

If interested, take a look at Grease.wikia.com/characters. I added pages for the Boy and Girl Greasers, naming them.
